Yorkshire Dales | 6 - 8 February 2026

An ALL-Inclusive cosy winter reading retreat

Snuggled in a buttery-soft blanket, immersed in your book, crisp winter air curls through the trees, carrying the distant bleats of sheep from the neighbouring field.

Inside, the fire crackles gently, casting a warm amber glow across the room.  A private chef works quietly in the kitchen, the mouth-watering scent of comfort food drifting through the house—rich, savoury, and impossible to resist.

Beyond the frosted panes, the outdoor hot tub steams invitingly, waiting for you to slip in under the stars with flushed cheeks and a heart full of calm.

But perhaps the most magical part? The people. Fellow book lovers who speak your language. Laughter comes easily, conversations flow late into the night, and friendships begin that feel less like introductions and more like reunions.

Here, in this stillness, you’ll find not only time to read, but a place—and people—where you truly belong.

The location

Situated between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, Sedbergh (pronounced 'Sed-ber') radiates an old-world charm that has been described as being on the set of a Harry Potter movie.

Sedbergh is also England's official Book Town. Choose from a huge variety of books from cheap reads to collectables available from a wide range of booksellers and local shops and cafes.

Our only goal is to allow you the freedom and space to get lost in your favourite books - no judgement here! Socialise with other readers, or don't. Spend the day in your PJs or in bed. Bring your books, your e-reader, or a magazine. The important part is that this is your time.
